Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes is pleased to announce that Counsel Paschalis Paschalidis has joined the firm Arendt to help develop its international arbitration practice in Luxembourg as of 1 September 2021.

Following his service as a référendaire at the Court of Justice of the European Union from 2012 to 2018, Paschalis returned to private practice in 2019 and worked closely with the founding partners of Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes. With plansto return to Luxembourg to expand and develop the practice of international arbitration in the country, Paschalis joined Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes in February 2021 for a period of six months, to assist with the launch of the firm’s new adventure.

Yas Banifatemi comments: “I take particular pride in having spotted Paschalis when he was completing his PhD at Oxford, and then accompanied his first steps in international arbitration and mentored him throughout the years. He is exceptional in every sense, and I am delighted to see that his many talents will now serve the beginnings of an international arbitration practice in Luxembourg. Paschalis’ expertise goes from commercial and investment arbitration to European Union law and even Roman law. He also was a highly respected and appreciated member of our diverse and dynamic team.
