Mohamed Shelbaya will moderate two Oxford Union-style debates at the IBA Arb40 Symposium on 29 October 2023.
The first motion will see Ruxandra Irina Esanu and Samy Markbaoui address whether witness statements drafted by lawyers have lost their probative value. For the second motion, Mélanie Riofrio Piché and Anne-Marie Lacoste will discuss whether we need stricter ethical rules for international arbitration practitioners.
